It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 16th edition of Innova, RusselSmith’s online publication on all things interesting, innovative and informative, with a special focus on the oil and gas industry.
This edition marks the end of the first half of 2018. At the beginning of the year, I emphasized that in 2018 we will focus on disruptive solutions that will have a positive impact on the Oil and Gas industry.
In the 21st Century business world, we cannot underestimate the value of building and sustaining momentum and maintaining high morale across board within organizations.
Getting ahead in the market place requires a carefully thought out plan to effectively fuse motivation and momentum for peak performance.
Momentum is essential to create a successful, sustainable business, yet, one of the biggest challenges that businesses face is how to sustain momentum.You can think of momentum as a force which is unwilling to come to a halt. The greater the momentum, the harder it is to stop the object’s movement.

Globally and locally, there have been various economic, business, and societal changes that have impacted the economy positively and adversely. With an excellent spirit and attitude, we all believe that the best is yet to come. However, this will be determined by our personal disposition in shaping our output.

Innova now has an events section, and we are starting it off with news of the General Meeting of the Lagos Section of NACE International, which RusselSmith hosted on November 19, 2016.

Challenging because the global oil and gas industry is currently faced with one of the most severe downturns in over 30 years. The business environment is becoming increasingly difficult to predict and adapt to as we face issues ranging from geopolitical uncertainty to over- regulation leading to businesses taking drastic measures to stay afloat. But we are optimistic of the future as we expect to see significant changes positively in the next one year.
