2018: Taking a Quantum Leap in Disruptive Innovation

It is with great joy and enthusiasm that I welcome you to this New Year, and to a new chapter in the story of RusselSmith.
I would like to thank all our stakeholders for their continued commitment towards achieving our set purpose, which is to become a world class Integrated Oilfield Services Company.
Last year, we emphasized a “Culture of Excellence” across board in our organization and this led us to achieve great results. It is however important to note that yesterday’s excellence has become today’s standard, and it is our responsibility to go above and beyond our existing levels of innovation and service delivery. To achieve this goal, we have decided to take a disruptive approach.
As the world keeps changing, new frontiers are being discovered and new innovations birthed, ultimately to the benefit of humanity. Today, we have innovations that were previously impossible, which are now seen as commonplace.
Solutions to life-long problems are being found in Medicine, Technology, Finance and broadly speaking; Business. For any organization to remain relevant and competitive, it is important for such an organization to think outside the box and adopt radically different approaches to solving problems.
Yesterday’s solutions will not solve today’s problems, and this knowledge has challenged us as an organization to consciously ‘disrupt’ our processes, products and service delivery methods from time to time, with the aim of finding faster, easier and more effective ways to get things done.
Innovative Disruption requires commitment, a pioneering mindset and quick thinking and open-mindedness. At RusselSmith, we are not short of any of these. We have a team of young and highly innovative minds – I call them Tomorrow’s People because they are never satisfied with the status quo and are working very hard to break new grounds technologically and otherwise.
In 2018, we will focus on disruptive solutions that will positively impact the oil & gas industry in Nigeria and the world at large. We have set our sights on developing unique technologies, improving service delivery to our customers and expanding our business portfolio to add more value to the industry.
According to Travis Bradberry, an award-winning author, “Influential people are never satisfied with the status quo. They are the ones who constantly ask, ‘What if?’ and ‘Why not?’ They are not afraid to challenge conventional wisdom and they don’t disrupt things for the sake of being disruptive; they do it to make things better.”
At RusselSmith, our aim is to make our industry better, and that is why our 2018 slogan is;
